Comment 1 Robert-André Mauchin 🐧 2018-08-12 18:28:37 UTC
 - Same issue as before, why do you package a snapshot instead of the latest release

 - Not needed: rm -rf $RPM_BUILD_ROOT

 - Don't use a glob for the major soname version to avoid unintentional soname bump:

%{_libdir}/libSoapySDR.so.0.*

 - Use of %{python2_sitearch}/* / %{python3_sitearch}/* is now forbidden, be more specific instead of using a glob.

 - Python2 files don't seem to be built:

BUILDSTDERR: File not found : /builddir/build/BUILDROOT/SoapySDR-0.6.1-1.fc29.x86_64/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/*
Child return code was: 1

The Cmake script only detects Python 3:

Comment 2 Matt Domsch 2018-08-13 04:39:25 UTC
I've made the changes suggested above and re-posted SRPM and spec file. I figured out how to tell it about /usr/bin/python[23] executables directly, and they now build properly on rawhide in mock.

There have been 97 commits to the upstream, many of which are bug and build fixes, since the 0.6.1 release in December 2017. I could if preferred batch them into a single patch and apply that after the 0.6.1 tarball. I do not know when upstream may release a 0.7.0 final.

Comment 3 Robert-André Mauchin 🐧 2018-08-13 14:58:37 UTC
You also need to include the snapshot info in Release:

%global commit e694813431720d9fe7ba7b0adc88194d022f4bf5
%global shortcommit %(c=%{commit}; echo ${c:0:7})
%global snapshotdate 20180806

Name:           SoapySDR
Version:        0.6.1
Release:        1.%{snapshotdate}git%{shortcommit}%{?dist}

   And in your %changelog entry:

* Mon Aug  6 2018 Matt Domsch <matt> - 0.6.1-1.20180806gite694813

 - Capitalize the summaries

 - Split the doc into a separate noarch subpackage.

 - Own this directory:

[!]: Package requires other packages for directories it uses.
     Note: No known owner of /usr/share/cmake/SoapySDR
