Description Lucy Bopf 2018-08-10 06:45:13 UTC
Name of function:
OCP on OSP Storage Integration

User story:
As a data center manager, I need seamless integration between OCP and OSP, to ensure the current block and object storage services are consumable for container applications.

Purpose of function:
Deploying OCP with openshift-ansible should make use of the storage services provided by OSP in a transparent way to the operator, who expects providing block storage to the container apps, whether they run on virtual instances or bare metal instances, or (object) storage to the image registry. Reasonable options to configure storage should be provided to the operator where required.

Since Ceph is a common storage backend for block storage, persistent storage and object (through Rados Gateway), with the goal of simplifying the infrastructure, Ceph should be the main backend for the OCP services.

Work required (from detail plan):

Assigning to Martin for review.

Martin, for this one, it might be worth consulting with Kim and Laura about the existing storage docs and where this might fit.
