Description Pooja Trivedi 2018-08-14 08:00:10 UTC
1. Proposed title of this feature request

[RFE] Able to run errrata installation in a schedule with Katello agent without have to rely on SSH Remote Execution only.

2. In non-public update...

3. What is the nature and description of the request?

In satellite 6.3 web UI, navigate to Monitor > Jobs > select the profile > Run Job

By doing so a page is opened where we have to select the Job category and Job template. All the custom templates are executed via SSH module even when creating a new template only SSH option is there no other option is available.

The customer requires an option by which we can create template without SSH usage but via katello agent.

4. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)

The customer wants this feature request so that he can option other than SSH to run remote execution jobs.

5. How would the customer like to achieve this? (List the functional requirements here)

Add an option where customer can pass the katello agent option in the template to run a remote execution job.

6. Is there already an existing RFE upstream or in Red Hat Bugzilla?

No

7. Does the customer have any specific timeline dependencies and which release would they like to target (i.e. RHEL5, RHEL6)?

N/A

8. Is the sales team involved in this request and do they have any additional input?

No

9. List any affected packages or components.

N/A

10. Would the customer be able to assist in testing this functionality if implemented?

Yes

We already track a requirement for having a non-SSH based provider for remote execution in BZ1316598, so I'm going ahead and marking this one as a duplicate. If you feel BZ1316598 doesn't fully cover the original report, please feel free to reopen it or add more details to the other BZ.

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 1316598 ***
