When engine check if the guest agent is running it only looks for oVirt Guest Agent. However in some cases, for example in case of snapshots, engine should rather check for QEMU guest agent. Engine should either switch to checking for QEMU guest agnet or distinguish between the agents. Whatever is more appropriate.
Hi, can you give a bit more information about this feature? What is the benefit and how is user able to use this information? Is there a customer feature for this?
This is a necessary step in the process of eliminating oVirt Guest Agent. Engine should check for oVirt GA only for features that depend on in. Otherwise it may confusingly force users to install oVirt GA when not needed.
Re-targeting to 4.3.1 since it is missing a patch, an acked blocker flag, or both
Asking again, what is this bug about? And should this even be ON_QA? I can see column qemu_guest_agent_status in vm_dynamic table, however this column is not set to 1 when only QGA is present. Also e.g. when creating a snapshot there is still a warning about missing guest agent. Testing on ovirt-engine-4.3.0.2-0.1.el7.noarch
As Tomaš explained above, it's a step towards eliminating oVirt Guest Agent. And no, I don't think it can be reasonably tested. Ryan, can we just close it?
Hi Ryan, can you please answer this need info from Tomasz? This bug is apparently waiting on me (which is not true) and IMO it should me moved to either closed or assigned (as the functionality is not testable yet).
