Description Stephen Herr 2018-08-16 01:01:24 UTC
Flaw bug created to hold information about an old flaw we knew something about. For more details see the MITRE CVE description.

Comment 1 Stephen Herr 2018-08-16 17:02:49 UTC
MITRE description:

suidperl (aka sperl) does not properly cleanse the escape sequence "~!" before calling /bin/mail to send an error report, which allows local users to gain privileges by setting the "interactive" environmental variable and calling suidperl with a filename that contains the escape sequence.
