From User-Agent: XML-RPC HOTFIX Requested http://seg.rdu.redhat.com/scripts/hotfix/edit.pl?id=388 Please inform the customer that /proc/sys/vm/kscand_work_percent is a tunable parameter that can be set between 1 and 100 inclusive. Setting it to a lower value causes kscand to run more often and do less work every time it runs. Lower values will result is shorter pauses however the overhead or scheduling kscand more often might result in a slight performance degradation. Please have the customer try lowering this parameter below 10 to see if the pauses disappear completely. Larry Woodman A fix for this problem has just been committed to the RHEL3 U6 patch pool this evening (in kernel version 2.4.21-32.12.EL). An advisory has been issued which should help the problem described in this bug report. This report is therefore being closed with a resolution of ERRATA.
