Description Pavel Raiskup 2018-08-21 10:03:07 UTC
IMO, native-messaging-hosts should be owned by mozilla-filesystem.

+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1619528 +++

[?]: Package does not own files or directories owned by other packages.
Note: Dirs in package are owned also by: /usr/lib64/mozilla/native-
     messaging-hosts(webextension-token-signing, chrome-gnome-shell)

Comment 1 Lukáš Tyrychtr 2018-08-21 13:16:27 UTC
In my opinion it is a good idea, however this probably will a comment from someone more experienced in the current packaging state.

Comment 2 Pavel Raiskup 2018-08-21 20:58:21 UTC
Plus, it would be super nice if we could have non-arch-specific alternative
path, e.g. under /usr/share. E.g. this forces us to make 'textern' package
arch specific (can not be noarch).

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 31 development cycle.
Changing version to '31'.

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 31 development cycle.
Changing version to 31.

Comment 5 Ignacio Vazquez-Abrams 2019-08-19 19:14:16 UTC
Poking this because it "blocks" system-wide installation of mpris-integration (https://github.com/jsmnbom/mpris-integration).

Comment 6 Ben Cotton 2020-11-03 17:22:13 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 31 is nearing its end of life.
Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 31 on 2020-11-24.
It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer
maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a
Fedora 'version' of '31'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 31 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 7 Ben Cotton 2020-11-24 19:34:48 UTC
Fedora 31 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2020-11-24. Fedora 31 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.

Comment 8 Martin Stransky 2020-11-27 08:14:47 UTC
Pavel do you mind to provide a patch to mozilla-filesystem package?
Thanks.

Comment 9 Pavel Raiskup 2021-01-04 13:32:57 UTC
I can, but I'm not sure ... is there some arch-agnostic location for
the native-messaging-hosts? See comment #2.

Comment 10 Martin Stransky 2021-01-04 14:23:14 UTC
See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1318461 for the platform independent bug which is not implemented yet, so we need to use /usr/lib(64)/... path.

Comment 12 Jan Horak 2021-01-20 15:58:13 UTC
Already merged by Martin. Do you need to release the update for the F32+ or is the rawhide sufficient?

Comment 13 Pavel Raiskup 2021-01-20 17:57:40 UTC
Rawhide is fine. Thanks!
