Description Paul DeStefano 2018-09-02 21:50:25 UTC
Description of problem:
When I right-click on the Cinnamon panel, I see the first level menu, but all sub menus, i.e. Applications, etc., are emtpy and generate a error dialog, which states:

Invalid output from pipe-menu "/usr/libexec/openbox-xdg-menu applications"

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
openbox-3.6.1-10.fc29.x86_64

How reproducible:
Always, can't seem to fix it.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Login to Cinnamon DE
2. Try to start an application from the application menu.

Is this a duplicate of bug #1624651?

Comment 2 Paul DeStefano 2018-09-12 15:47:46 UTC
It's likely, but I cannot be sure. They occurred simultaneously, but there wasn't anything in the crash details that made me think they were the same, so, I reported it separately. I figured that someone else might know if the other crash would cause this effect.

Same exact issue Fedora 29 with Xfce.
