Hi Andreas,

Me and Erno had some discussion around this last Thursday. It will be very much difficult to backport this to OSP13, I have identified couple of problems for the same.
Below are our observations related to this. (Erno will also share some concerns around this)

1. If you want to backport this plugin in downstream, we need to backport base plugin as well as image conversion plugin patch along with some of the bug fixes.

Base patch:

Image conversion patch:

Bugs:

2. Considering new import flow requires NFS set-up for staging operation by default in current master import method used is web-download, which was not available in osp13. So in order to make it compatible either customer need to configure NFS for staging operation manually as it's support will not be available in TripleO or we need to backport web-download support as well. Below are some corresponding patches to enabled shared storage via TripleO.

Yep, I'm afraid this feature will not be backported. I'll close this bug, feel free to reopen if needed.
