Comment 2 Victor Roetman 2018-09-16 19:19:39 UTC
I have had the same problem. I am on a Lenovo ThinkPad T500 with an Intel 5350 AGN built in wifi adapter, running Fedora 28. The wireless does not work for me at all on the Fedora 4.18 kernel, but works when I boot into 4.17.19.

It works on 4.17.19-200.fc28.x86_64, but it does not work on 4.18.7-200.fc28.x86_64 nor on 4.18.5-200.fc28.x86_64.

lshw on 4.17.19 (working) says:

Comment 3 Anthony Messina 2018-10-20 17:35:18 UTC
This continues to occur with the full line of 4.18 kernels. Is there any additional information I can provide toward resolution (especially as F29 approaches)?

Comment 4 Victor Roetman 2018-11-03 01:52:20 UTC
F29 is now here. I downloaded Fedora-Workstation-Live-x86_64-29-1.2.iso (kernel 4.8.16-300.fc29.x86_64) and it has the same problem.

Comment 5 Anthony Messina 2018-11-16 08:15:46 UTC
This continues to occur with kernel-4.19.2-300.fc29.x86_64

Comment 7 Jeremy Cline 2018-12-03 17:32:24 UTC
We apologize for the inconvenience. There is a large number of bugs to go through and several of them have gone stale. Due to this, we are doing a mass bug update across all of the Fedora 29 kernel bugs.

Fedora 29 has now been rebased to 4.19.5-300.fc29. Please test this kernel update (or newer) and let us know if you issue has been resolved or if it is still present with the newer kernel.

If you experience different issues, please open a new bug report for those.

Comment 8 Anthony Messina 2018-12-04 16:58:38 UTC
Unfortunately Jeremy, this bug continues to exist with the 4.19.6-300.fc29.x86_64 kernel as well.

Comment 9 Anthony Messina 2019-01-20 19:40:00 UTC
This continues to occur with kernel-4.20.3-200.fc29.x86_64.

Comment 10 Anthony Messina 2019-02-24 23:19:22 UTC
This continues to be an issue through all of the 4.18.y, 4.19.y and 4.20.y kernels as well as kernel-5.0.0-0.rc6.git1.1.fc30.x86_64.

Can you provide advice on how to take this issue upstream? Is the Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 5350 AGN device essentially unsupported?

Comment 11 Laura Abbott 2019-04-09 20:46:40 UTC
We apologize for the inconvenience. There is a large number of bugs to go through and several of them have gone stale. Due to this, we are doing a mass bug update across all of the Fedora 29 kernel bugs.

Fedora XX has now been rebased to 5.0.6 Please test this kernel update (or newer) and let us know if you issue has been resolved or if it is still present with the newer kernel.

If you have moved on to Fedora 30, and are still experiencing this issue, please change the version to Fedora 30.

If you experience different issues, please open a new bug report for those.

Comment 12 Anthony Messina 2019-04-12 14:12:45 UTC
Laura, this continues to be an issue with kernel-5.0.7-200.fc29.x86_64 on my ThinkPad X200s:

Comment 13 Anthony Messina 2019-04-21 03:37:39 UTC
Emmanuel Grumbach responded to my email to <linuxwifi> with a one-line patch that fixes the Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 5350 AGN [Echo Peak] device allowing it work as expected. I'll attach the patch I applied to 5.0.8-200.fc29.x86_64.

Can this patch be included in Fedora kernels until it is applied upstream? Thank you.

Comment 15 Laura Abbott 2019-04-22 21:19:41 UTC
Do you have a link to the thread or the patchwork where this patch was submitted by the maintainer? We generally prefer to pick up what the maintainer will submit with full commit message etc.

Comment 16 Anthony Messina 2019-04-22 22:36:09 UTC
Emmanuel Grumbach sent me the patch via <linuxwifi> so I don't have a link to patchwork. He did indicate that he was going to submit it upstream. I have requested this information from him and will report back here. Thank you.

Comment 17 Anthony Messina 2019-04-23 12:04:52 UTC
Luca Coelho added this upstream: https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/10912577/

Comment 18 Anthony Messina 2019-05-08 12:20:48 UTC
This was fixed upstream and will be in the 5.0.14 stable kernel: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git/diff/drivers/net/wireless/intel/iwlwifi/cfg/5000.c?id=v5.0.14&id2=v5.0.13
