Description of problem: Large subtree migrations cause the MDS to spend too much time working without updating its internal heartbeat. This causes beacons to not be sent and the MDS removed from the MDSMap by the mons. How reproducible: Unknown. It is projected to be possible by creating a client which caches most of the files in a large directory of ~1million files. https://github.com/ceph/ceph/pull/23088#issuecomment-409754603
Updating the QA Contact to a Hemant. Hemant will be rerouting them to the appropriate QE Associate. Regards, Giri
