Cron jobs in the 3.11 admin console none

Description Bruno Andrade 2018-09-12 16:00:50 UTC
Description of problem:

Now that CronJobs are GA my users would like the ability to modify them using the WUI.

At present users may only peruse resultant Jobs via `Other Resources -> Jobs` but they can not see or manipulate the CronJob that created those jobs.

A. Why exactly do you need this feature? (List the business requirements here)
There should be an entry of `CronJobs` behind `Other Resources` that
would list all such objects defined in the current project.

B. How would you like to achieve this? (List the functional requirements here)
Selecting a CronJob resource should reveal an `Edit` button at the
top right. Activating Edit should reveal a form dialog where all
configurable options of a CronJob such as schedule details are
available for individual revision. It would be helpful to expose an `Edit YAML` button.

C. Do you have any specific timeline dependencies?

It's an ongoing inconvenience. There is not a specific timeline.

D. Would you be able to assist in testing this functionality if implemented?
We would be happy to test.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
OCP v3.9

The admin console planned for 3.11 will have support for viewing, editing, and creating cron jobs. Editing and creation uses YAML. The create page has a YAML template that can be modified.

With the introduction of OpenShift 4, Red Hat has delivered or roadmapped a substantial number of features based on feedback by our customers. Many of the enhancements encompass specific RFEs which have been requested, or deliver a comparable solution to a customer problem, rendering an RFE redundant.

This bz (RFE) has been identified as a feature request not yet planned or scheduled for an OpenShift release and is being closed.

If this feature is still an active request that needs to be tracked, Red Hat Support can assist in filing a request in the new JIRA RFE system, as well as provide you with updates as the RFE progress within our planning processes. Please open a new support case: https://access.redhat.com/support/cases/#/case/new

As the new Jira RFE system is not yet public, Red Hat Support can help answer your questions about your RFEs via the same support case system.
