Description of problem: Need a host with static IP for troubleshooting an upstream issue. Please feel free to let me know if any additional details are needed to setup this host. Thanks!
Can we have a list of people whose IP addresses need to be added to this machine?
A lot more details: - how long do you want it - why is this called "bastion ssh host" - what size of the VM - what hardware and more ? - why is softserve not good enough ?
Also, how critic would this host be, and who will have access to it ?
(In reply to Nigel Babu from comment #1) > Can we have a list of people whose IP addresses need to be added to this > machine? IP addresses or ssh keys? None of us developers would have a static IP address for our laptops. Developers who would need access to this machine - Vijay, Shyam, Raghavendra Bhat, Pranith, Ravishankar N and Amar.
(In reply to M. Scherer from comment #2) > A lot more details: > - how long do you want it About a few (4-6) weeks. > - why is this called "bastion ssh host" The phrase was used by Nigel for referring to this host in an email exchange. Copied the same phrase while logging the bug ;-). > - what size of the VM Not a very resource intensive VM. The VM will be primarily used to open secure connections to a different host. > - what hardware and more ? Same as above. 2 vCPUs and some disk space for transferring logs etc. should be good. > - why is softserve not good enough ? Need a VM with a static external IP & the desired usage duration is for 4-6 weeks. Am not certain if softserve can provision a VM that satisfies these conditions.
So, I do not understand the usecase, the server would do what, what kind of debug on the server requires a fixed IP ? And if that's a bastion, it should communicate with what, what upstream issue is to be troubleshooted, do you have a bug report ?

We are also trying alternate means for troubleshooting. Will get back if this is really needed. I will setup a meeting or start a different email thread to provide more details if this method becomes a necessity. Thanks!
