Created attachment 1483237 [details] The alt+space doesnt make any change to the keyboard layout Description of problem: While installing fedora, the user has the right to choose Fedora keyboard layout. A user can add multiple keyboard layout and make a "preferred-keyboard-layout-switch" key combination and then test. while I was able to add another keyboard layout than the "en" which is default, I was able to switch layouts which key combinations of "both ctrl together" but "alt+space" did work and kept popping the menu to minimize and window Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Fedora 29 Beta 1.1 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Live boot in Fedora 29 1.1 WS 2. Select "install to hard-drive" 3. Add a new keyboard layout, in the same screen you will see a text box to check the config. 4. You will also have an option button to set a key combination, make a selection which has "alt+space" or also select "both control together" while you can see the change in selection in the white field but when you hit "alt+space" it wont work instead pop a different menu Actual results: it should change Expected results: The keyboard layout should change while the key combinations are made Additional info:
The same behavior is on F28 Live. What happens if you change the key combination? On F28 doesn't work as expected: hitting the key combination switch only if it is not selected the first language in the list. Once on the first language, the key combination seems to have no effects.
As an addition, using Fedora-Workstation-netinst-x86_64-29_Beta-1.2, it works as expected. So it seems that there is some key combination that conflicts with GNOME leading to such misbehavior.
Looks like this bug still not fixed in anaconda. The last time such bug got reported was got auto-closed. See https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1389959
