Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because
the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.
Description of problem:
I'm following the procedure to do dual boot[1], and in step 7, we should uncheck the option to install the boot loader. I have the impression that Anaconda is ignoring this option, because after the installation I see the Plymounth trying to load Red Hat Linux, this means, that even when [theoretically] nothing was installed on the boot loader.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Red Hat 7.6 Beta x86_64.
How reproducible:
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install CentOS 7.5 or Fedora 26
2. Install Red Hat 7.6 Beta
3. Uncheck option to install the boot loader
4. Reboot the machine.
5. The machine tries to boot Red Hat 7.6
Actual results:
The boot fails.
Expected results:
Boot from the original OS.
Additional info:
I followed the procedure:
https://access.redhat.com/solutions/45409
to uncheck the boot loader option, I go:
Anaconda -> Installation destination -> full disk summary and boot loader (bottom left of the screen) -> selected disks (new window) -> click on the disk and change the option.
I found the problem and a workaround, but maybe someone could investigate if this is a bug or a feature.
The problem is only when I install CentOS 7.5 and then RHEL 7.6 beta. Somehow the `initramfs` of CentOS is broken during the RHEL installation.
The easiest solution I found is to boot into rescue mode, and inside the `chroot /mnt/sysimage` run `dracut -f` to regenerate the `initramfs` file.
Although this solved the problem, it doesn't make much sense, since each OS should have its own files.
Logs attached in comments 6 and 7 are from the installation start but I'm more interested in the end when the initrd is created. Please attach logs from the installed system then there will be complete installation process.
Thank you.
Any update on this issue? Did you see anything on the logs?
