Please add the following question to 3.5->3.6 upgrade: Do you have VMs with snapshots? To check which VMs have snapshot, run the following command on the manager: # /usr/share/ovirt-engine/dbscripts/engine-psql.sh -c "select vm_name from vm_static INNER JOIN snapshots ON (vm_static.vm_guid=snapshots.vm_id) and snapshot_type!='ACTIVE'" If they answer is yes: Delete all the snapshots prior to upgrading to next versions. If not done so, it won't be possible to delete those snapshots in later versions. But Vm will continue being operational.
Also, add this text: In case of any snapshot deletion failure, do not proceed to with the upgrade. Stop and reach out to Red Hat support to help get it resolved.
I believe we should add this question to RHEV 3.6->4.0 flow as well. The question should be: Do you have snapshots created before RHEV 3.6? And the answer should be same as above.
Hi Marina, Thank you for reaching out me. I've updated the app. You can check them here: https://labsdemo.usersys.redhat.com/labs/rhvupgradehelper/ Any question or comment please let me know. Thanks.
Is there a way to split the warning in two paragraphs? Like this: ~~~ Delete all the snapshots prior to upgrading to next versions. If not done so, it won't be possible to delete those snapshots in later versions. But Vm will continue being operational. In case of any snapshot deletion failure, do not proceed to with the upgrade. Stop and reach out to Red Hat support to help get it resolved. ~~~
Hi Marina, I've adjusted the app according to your feedback. Can you have a look? https://labsci.usersys.redhat.com/labs/rhvupgradehelper/ Thanks. Yunfeng
Yunfeng, it looks great, but we also need to make this change for 3.6->4.0 flow please.
All changes have been pushed to Prod: https://access.redhat.com/labs/rhvupgradehelper/
