Description of problem: plasma-oxygen package seems to have an epel7 branch and one build (https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=806566) that was never submitted as an update. Additionally, it's an old version that doesn't include the oxygen-sound-theme subpackage. I used that package on Fedora to unbundle some sound files from mkvtoolnix. For now, I'm letting mkvtoolnix bundle the files in EPEL, but if you're planning to release it for EPEL7 after all, I'd like to ask you to include the oxygen-sound-theme subpackage so that I can minimize the differences between Fedora and EPEL. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): plasma-oxygen-5.8.0-2.el7
Sorry, the build is actually there (as qt5-style-oxygen-5.8.0-2.el7), but the oxygen-sound-theme is missing and on all arches, not just ppc64.
Your assumption about missed bodhi is wrong: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2016-9aca50b652 Maybe this bug is a request to update the package. There's a more current version in Fedora that could get merged into epel7. Let's ask maintainer(s) of Fedora branches to let us know more.
FTR It's decided to have this specific version in EPEL7 to comply with look&feel and support of upstream. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1381197#c6 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1381197#c10
I objected to that propopsal, fwiw. point is, bug #1381197 was specifically about adding qt5-oxygen-style to epel7 (and nothing else). I'm verifying now that the current plasma LTS (5.12.x) builds and has no conflicts.
plasma-oxygen-5.12.6-2.el7 has been submitted as an update to Fedora EPEL 7. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2018-8fd1dde1ef
(In reply to Raphael Groner from comment #2) > Your assumption about missed bodhi is wrong: > https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2016-9aca50b652 That's correct. I found it a few minutes later and mentioned that in comment #1. > Maybe this bug is a request to update the package. There's a more current > version in Fedora that could get merged into epel7. (In reply to Fedora Update System from comment #5) > plasma-oxygen-5.12.6-2.el7 has been submitted as an update to Fedora EPEL 7. > https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2018-8fd1dde1ef Well, that's... one way of doing it. I guess I didn't say that clearly enough, but I was actually asking for adding a noarch subpackage called oxygen-sound-theme that wouldn't drag in any additional dependencies, much like the one on Fedora. Having it all in one big theme package makes it too costly to unbundle a few sound files from mkvtoolnix in terms of added dependencies, so the above update isn't useful for me.
How is that update *not* providing what you're asking for? it is exactly providing "a noarch subpackage called oxygen-sound-theme that wouldn't drag in any additional dependencies" don't let the bodhi pkg name (ie, the src.rpm from which it comes from) confuse you Specifically, https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=1151853 It now provides 2 (sub)packages qt5-oxygen-style (same as before) oxygen-sound-theme (new)
D'oh. I'm terribly sorry, you're right. I missed the separate noarch section. Thanks a lot for quick reaction.
