Description of problem: After upgrading to F29 beta (a couple of weeks ago), Passwords and Keys doesn't show any of my saved passwords under the 'login' keyring. I know they're still in gnome-keyring, though, because Evolution uses them and I can look them up over the dbus interface. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): seahorse 3.30-1.fc29 How reproducible: always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Have passwords saved in gnome-keyring. 2. Open Passwords and Keys. Actual results: The list of passwords is empty. Expected results: Password items should be listed. Additional info: I can use seahorse to add a stored password successfully, but still nothing shows up in the list. There are no messages in the journalctl logs or stdout/stderr.
I have the same error on F29 final release. Passwords are stored, but the list is empty. Solution for me was remove seahorse package and install previous version from Fedora 28 repository. Error override: 1. Unistall seahorse using dnf. 2. Configure fedora 28 repository. 3. Install old version of package: dnf install seahorse-3.20.0-9.fc28 --enablerepo=<your-F28-repository>
Same here after upgrade to F2: passwords seem to be there, NetworkManager can connect to WiFis, but the list is empty.
Same here, straight after CLI upgrading from F28 to F29. I've stored journalctl entries that include starting seahorse, unlocking a keystore (no keys shown, even though it is not empty) and stopping seahorse. I had the same problem after upgrade to Fedora 29. Open the "View" menu in the menubar and choose "Show Any". After this change I could see my passwords again. The default "Show Personal" hides all the passwords.
Thanks M. that solved it for me. Since there is no trust for passwords, I guess the filter should not filter them, right? So it's still a bug I guess.
Yeap, you're right. At least it's bad design of the UI.
Also before Gnome Search would find passwords by their description. Maybe it's related? Now it doesn't any more, even though I can see my passwords again.
(In reply to M. Merklinger from comment #5) > Open the "View" menu in the menubar and choose "Show Any". Thank you! The Show Personal/Trusted options hiding all the passwords does seem like a bug (though mostly because those options shouldn't be available for password keyrings). I'm also seeing the problem where the Gnome overview search doesn't find any password entries, as in comment 8. Additionally, the filter control at the top of the Seahorse window won't match capital letters. Maybe these should be filed as separate bugs?
Sad to see this bug going nowhere I can confirm that downgrading seahorse to that in fedora28 restores gnome search functionality, although this is separate from this bug's title, so should be reported separately.
I noticed a day later that I was unable to log back into my gnome session after the seahorse downgrade. I updated in a terminal before I could get back in, so might not be viable sadly.
Ignore the above, since reboot I have been able to login
Fedora 29 currently includes Seahorse 3.30.1.1. After switching back to "Show Personal" in the "View" menu, all passwords remain visible. To me, this bug is resolved. Thanks.
This no longer seems to be a problem in seahorse-3.32.2-2.fc31.x86_64 at least, so I'm closing this.
