Created attachment 1495691 [details] Proposed patch Description of problem: When trying to set-up the scanner part of my MFP M177fw, the proprietary plugin installation fails because the signing key cannot not be retrieved from the key server (temporary unavailability perhaps?) Looking through the code, it seems that a specific key server (pgp.mit.edu) is used, whereas a server pool (e.g., pool.sks-keyservers.net) should probably be used instead. Changing the key server from pgp.mit.edu to pool.sks-keyservers.net fixed the plugin installation for me. Patch attached.
Hi Rok, thank you for the reporting the issue and for the patch! I'll report the issue to upstream as https://bugs.launchpad.net/hplip/+bug/1799212
Actually, I wasn't able to connect to pgp.mit.edu twice in two weeks, so I'll reopen the bug and fix it downstream.
