The new version is out and required for JOSM:

https://github.com/blackears/svgSalamander/releases

This will probably fix also the CVE.

I filled a PR in koji for releasing a new version [1]. Please, let me know if you still have time to maintain this package or you want to give it away to me.

Otherwise, I will have to continue according to the nonresponsive maintainers policy [2].
