RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Fixed In Version: augeas-1.4.0-8.el7
Doc Type: Bug Fix
Doc Text:
Prior to this update, Augeas was not able to read the default /etc/sudoers file provided by more recent versions of the sudo utility. The sudoers lens of Augeas has been fixed to parse also the always_query_group_plugin option. As a result, Augeas now reads default /etc/sudoers as expected.

Description Pino Toscano 2018-11-13 10:32:43 UTC
Description of problem:
As a result of the rebase of sudo to the latest upstream release (bug 1547974), now /etc/sudoers has a new option, "always_query_group_plugin".
This is always reproducible, since the new option is present by default.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
augeas-1.4.0-6.el7
sudo-1.8.23-3.el7.x86_64

Steps to Reproduce:
# augtool
augtool> ls /augeas//error
...
pos = 2691
line = 73
char = 12
lens/ = /usr/share/augeas/lenses/dist/sudoers.aug:529.10-.70:
message = Iterated lens matched less than it should
...
augtool> print /files/etc/sudoers
(nothing here)

Expected results:
- `ls /augeas//error` in augtool should not show any error from the sudoers.aug lens
- augeas parses /etc/sudoers correctly, and offers its parsed tree

Comment 4 YongkuiGuo 2018-11-14 03:33:34 UTC
Verified with packages:

The new option 'always_query_group_plugin' has been parsed correctly. So verified this bug.
