Description Vasishta 2018-11-19 05:34:18 UTC
Description of problem:
As part of fix for RFE Bug 1624962 ,user needs to copy infrastructure-playbooks/add-osd.yml to ceph-ansible directory and run add-osd.yml playbook to add OSDs to existing cluster.

In existing operations guide chapter 1.3.2 and 1.3.3, we are asking users to run site.yml which should be replaced by add-osd.yml.

In descriptions of 1.3.2, mention about /usr/share/ceph-ansible/group_vars/osds can be removed as user might have defined in this file or in inventory file (/etc/asnsible/hosts).

Hi Aron,

Thanks for the changes.

1) We need to replace site-docker.yml also with add-osd.yml in same sections. Sorry for not mentioning it explicitly.

2) Previously when user had to use site.yml or site-docker.yml, the file used to be in /usr/share/ceph-ansible (we are asking users to change their working directory to /usr/share/ceph-ansible) and site.yml and site-docker.yml used to be in the same folder. Now add-osd.yml has to be copied to /us/share/ceph-ansible from /usr/share/ceph-ansible/infrastructure-playbooks to /usr/share/ceph-ansible .
If you think we need to add a step to do this, please add a step in respective sections.

Example command would look like -
[user@admin ceph-ansible]$ sudo cp infrastructure-playbooks/add-osd.yml .

3) In section 1.3.2 example commands step 3,4
'[user@admin ~]' can be finetuned as '[user@admin ceph-ansible]' as we are asking users to change the directory to /usr/share/ceph-ansible
