The e1000 driver update has just been committed to the RHEL3 U7 patch pool this evening (in kernel version 2.4.21-37.7.EL).

Reverting to assigned state, since it has been discovered that this bug is not yet resolved in the 1st respin of the U7 beta candidate (-39.EL).
I have tested the following 2 NICs on RHEL3 and RHEL4 kernel from http://people.redhat.com/linville/kernels/{rhel3-rhel4} kernel-smp-2.4.21-39.EL.jwltest.82.i686.rpm kernel-smp-2.6.9-30.EL.jwltest.107.i686.rpm PRO/1000PT (82572EI) Future --> PASS PRO/1000PT-DP (82571EB) Future --> PASS
A fix for this problem has just been committed to the RHEL3 U7 patch pool this evening (in kernel version 2.4.21-40.EL).
e1000 driver in kernel-smp-2.4.21-39.EL.jwltest.82.i686.rpm was tested against a variety of legacy and currently shipping Intel NICs/LOMs. All tests have passed.
