Description Olivier LAHAYE 2018-11-21 14:11:41 UTC
Description of problem:
owncloud package (server) is v9.1.5. using official client raises a warning telling that it may loose data.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
v9.1.5

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. download and install desktop client from official site
2. configure it to point to an EPEL installed owncloud server.
3. read the warning

Actual results:
warning from desktop client telling server is obsolete, not suported and may result in data loss.

Expected results:
Updated server package that won't produce a desktop client warning.

Additional info:
Current version is v10.0.10
Hopefully, postinstall scripts will take car of that gap upgrade.

I'm afraid nobody has maintained the package for years. I've retired the epel7 branch in git now. Not sure if we can have the packages obsoleted so nobody installs them by accident - there doesn't seem to be an EPEL equivalent of fedora-obsolete-packages.

EPEL 7 entered end-of-life (EOL) status on 2024-06-30.\n\nEPEL 7 is no longer maintained, which means that it\nwill not receive any further security or bug fix updates.\n As a result we are closing this bug.
