The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description of problem:

User belonging to User Group which uses external LDAP Authentication
authentication is not created with selected Admin user role

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create usergroup which is using external ldap/AD authentication
2. check Admin checkbox in a roles tab
3. try to log in with ad-ldap user from external group 

Actual results:

user created without admin role

Expected results:

User created with admin role

Additional info:

The reproducing steps are not clear to me, do you say the user is not assigned the usergroup from step 1 after his/her account is created? Does that work if you simply uncheck "admin" checkbox? Is the Usergroup Sync enabled for this auth source?

Moving this bug to POST for triage into Satellite 6 since the upstream issue https://projects.theforeman.org/issues/27928 has been resolved.

It is verified in satellite 6.8 Snap 2, Message is added  'rights are currently inherited from a user group' marking this is as resolved.
