RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Jason Gerecke 2018-12-05 16:49:54 UTC
Certain Wacom tablets appear to be incompatible with fwupd and stop working as soon as the fwupd service starts. Because the fwupd service starts a few seconds after the desktop loads on my test machine, the tablet initially appears to work after a reboot but then "disappears" (no longer listed in xsetwacom) after perhaps 30 seconds. In addition to the tablet disappearing, the following message is logged: failed to add USB device <VID>:<PID>: Failed to get feature report: endpoint stalled or request not supported.

More details in the upstream bug report: https://github.com/hughsie/fwupd/issues/882

This bug was confirmed to affect the RHEL 8 beta using a Wacom DTH-1152.

This is a trivial backport: https://github.com/hughsie/fwupd/commit/8949f3d0662090c8ca9ebbbb3ad6930428bf0d8f

Possible duplicate of bz#1680154, take a look.

I do not have permissions to view that bug.

Try bz#1659849

Comment 5 Jason Gerecke 2019-07-31 20:34:28 UTC
bz#1659849 is indeed a likely duplicate of this issue. I am the "Jason from Wacom" mentioned; my tests on the system in question pointed to fwupd being the likely issue. If bz#1680154 is in regard to one of the tablets removed by Richard (https://github.com/hughsie/fwupd/commit/aac786fcb905db2719c4a1f1bcf125536336cb6c) it could very well also be a duplicate.
