Description Moira Maley 2005-08-13 07:22:15 UTC
Description of problem:
The following error is shown when trying to launch up2date:

Error Message:
Please run rhn_register (or up2date --register ... ) as root on this client
Error Class Code: 9
Error Class Info: Invalid System Credentials

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Every time!

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on Launch up2date
2.
3.

Actual results:

Expected results:
To see up2date on screen

Additional info:

The machine has already been registered (system name spritsail). There was a
problem in sending the hardware details during the registration, however I've
found no way to update the information contained in system information on
RedHat. Thus I don't see how the registration, should impact on the ability to
update the system or how the system itself may have "invalid credentials".

Advice/resolution of this is urgent.

Thanks

I would suggest going to the rhn site (http://rhn.redhat.com), removing the
registration for that system, and re-registering.
