Description Eduard Barrera 2019-01-02 15:27:52 UTC
Description of problem:

Customer attempted an upgrade with octavia included, and got the following errors:

From code, it seems to be its trying to use “common” ansible module instead of “command”. To fix the issue, I made below change in /usr/share/openstack-tripleo-heat-templates/docker/services/{octavia-housekeeping.yaml, octavia-health-manager.yaml, octavia-worker.yaml}

<snip>
/usr/share/openstack-tripleo-heat-templates/docker/services/octavia-housekeeping.yaml
      upgrade_tasks:
        - when: step|int == 0
          tags: common
          block:
            - name: Check if octavia_housekeeping is deployed
             # common: systemctl is-enabled --quiet openstack-octavia-housekeeping
	      command: systemctl is-enabled --quiet openstack-octavia-housekeeping <=============
              ignore_errors: True
              register: octavia_housekeeping_enabled_result

/usr/share/openstack-tripleo-heat-templates/docker/services/octavia-health-manager.yaml
      upgrade_tasks:
        - when: step|int == 0
          tags: common
          block:
            - name: Check if octavia_health_manager is deployed
            # common: systemctl is-enabled --quiet openstack-octavia-health-manager
	      command: systemctl is-enabled --quiet openstack-octavia-health-manager <==========
              ignore_errors: True
              register: octavia_health_enabled_result
/usr/share/openstack-tripleo-heat-templates/docker/services/octavia-worker.yaml

      upgrade_tasks:
        - when: step|int == 0
          tags: common
          block:
            - name: Check if octavia_worker is deployed
             # common: systemctl is-enabled --quiet openstack-octavia-worker]
	      command: systemctl is-enabled --quiet openstack-octavia-worker <==========
              ignore_errors: True
              register: octavia_worker_enabled_result
 </snip>

We do not support Octavia on OSP 12.

This BZ is valid for 13 and 14, which is one of the version to which the upgrade is being done. However there is a Bugzilla to track the issue https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1664403. So I'll mark this as duplicate.
