Document URL: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_gluster_storage/3.4/html/administration_guide/sect-smb Section Number and Name: Section - 6.3 https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_gluster_storage/3.4/html/administration_guide/sect-smb Describe the issue: A single group command for setting necessary volume options for Samba-CTDB setup. Reason: It used to be the case that administrators fails to identify exact volume options to be set for a perfect Samba-CTDB setup. This occasionally led to functional issues and performance bottlenecks. This make sure that all required volume options ideal for a Samba-CTDB seup is set. Suggestions for improvement: We have a new group command named 'samba' which can be set as follows: # gluster volume set <VOLNAME> group samba This make sure that all required volume options ideal for a Samba-CTDB seup is set. Additional information: The group command will enable md-cache nl-cache parallel-readdir readdir-ahead
Hi Srijita, (As discussed in the IRC) After having a discussion with Anoop we come to a conclusion that we need to have all the individual volume options back to the document for the users who are not in 4.8.5-104 samba version. Add a note that if group samba option is available and enabled, all the following additional settings are done by default. Can you please make those changes and drop the link to validate.
