   See upstream gdb/23010, gdb/23712 or related Fedora bugs 1560010 et al.
   This is another instance of hitting the assertion through binaries
   compiled with LTO.

Actual results:

One thing I forgot to mention... This problem could potentially cause a flood of bug reports from abrt, which uses gdb to gather backtraces.

Reproduced against gdb-8.2-3.el8 and verified against gdb-8.2-5.el8.
