Description of problem: When upgrading one of my machines from Fedora 28 to Fedora 29, I was surprised to see Downgrading: nss x86_64 3.41.0-1.fc29 updates 613 k nss-softokn x86_64 3.41.0-1.fc29 updates 353 k nss-softokn-freebl x86_64 3.41.0-1.fc29 updates 211 k nss-sysinit x86_64 3.41.0-1.fc29 updates 20 k nss-tools x86_64 3.41.0-1.fc29 updates 455 k nss-util x86_64 3.41.0-1.fc29 updates 81 k message. And indeed, the NSS version in Fedora 29 is lower than in Fedora 28. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): nss-3.41.0-3.fc28.x86_64 nss-3.41.0-1.fc29.x86_64 How reproducible: Deterministic. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Have fresh Fedora 28 installation (I used container), upgrade NSS to latest version with dnf upgrade -y nss. 2. Do the same for Fedora 29 installation. 3. Run rpm -q nss on both. Actual results: nss-3.41.0-3.fc28.x86_64 and nss-3.41.0-1.fc29.x86_64 Expected results: Higher Fedora version should never have lower version of the package. Additional info:
Sigh, I guess I should have used <minorbump> when fixing the F28-only issues: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:Versioning#More_complex_versioning Will rebuild the F29 and rawhide packages now.
