Previously, the sbd daemon triggered a reboot when it detected a timeout or any unexpected behavior. If the hardware watchdog that was supervising the sbd daemon was configured to trigger a poweroff, a race between the poweroff and the reboot occurred. In this situation, an unexpected reboot may happen instead of a poweroff. If the hardware watchdog was not available, it was not possible to configure poweroff as a recovery mechanism. With this update, the configuration settings have been fixed to enable the consistent configuration of poweroff as a recovery mechanism.
