I have created PR with the change:
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/libmypaint/pull-request/1

I think we should package the alpha in fedora rawhide and let user test it there, as we have at least one outstanding bug for mypaint, which blocks people from installing gimp and mypaint on the same machine.
