From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.9) Gecko/20050711 Firefox/1.0.5 Description of problem: When running system-config-printer-gui, I tried adding a Networked Printer (JetDirect), and pointed it to a HP 5000n Laserjet. Foomatic was unable to recognize it, and defaulted to Postscript. This works, but might be a good idea to add this printer to the foomatic database. The output from foomatic is as below - No IEEE 1284 match: {'model': 'HP LaserJet 5000 Series', 'description': 'Hewlett-Packard LaserJet 5000 Series', 'cmdset': 'PJL,MLC,PCL,PCLXL,POSTSCRIPT', 'manufacturer': 'Hewlett-Packard'} Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): foomatic-3.0.2-19 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Run system-config-printer-gui 2.Try adding a HP 5000 Laserjet as a Networked JetDirect Additional info:
Created attachment 118474 [details] /usr/share/foomatic/db/source/printer/HP-LaserJet_5000.xml Please save this attachment and copy it to: /usr/share/foomatic/db/source/printer/HP-LaserJet_5000.xml Then run "rm -f /var/cache/foomatic/printconf.pickle" and try to create a queue again. Is the correct printer model automatically selected from the list?
Yes, the correct printer gets select now.
Great, thanks for testing.
