How reproducible: I followed this tutorial https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/LightDM#Enabling_autologin Steps to Reproduce: 1. edit lightdm.conf as described in the above tutorial 2. add the user to autologin group 3. make sure accountsservice is installed Actual results: after booting, the login screen appears and i have to press enter. Then some kind of login happens, but i fall back to the login screen. I have to press enter again to get the desktop. Expected results: I boot my machine and the login happens automatically, no need for pressing enter to get to the desktop Additional info:
Are you using lightdm-gtk or slick-greeter as frontend for lightdm? By the way, what does this have to do with mate-desktop package? mate-desktop isn't a meta package, it contains only some libs for MATE desktop.
I have slick-greeter installed. So i guess this is used as default frontend for lightdm. Can you tell me how i can check that? Thanks for the info with mate-desktop. I thought thats a meta-package. In that case i am wrong here.
