Created attachment 1533902 [details] Upstream patch baa0cb45cfcf10a81283c191b0b236cd1a2f66ee Hello, The upstream commit baa0cb45cfcf10a81283c191b0b236cd1a2f66ee [1] fixes a very small problem that has a major effect on OpenStack cinder behaviour, effectively breaking all sorts of volume operations. The issues was identified in [2] by Gorka Eguileor; I then did a copr build with this patch and everything started working [3,4] If we could incorporate this it would be of great help, thanks! The issue exists on f30 as well. iscsi-initiator-utils-6.2.0.876-8.gitf3c8e90.fc30.x86_64 f3c8e90 is prehistoric version (Mon Jul 9 13:02:05 2018 -0700) of open-iscsi Can you apply the fix (https://github.com/open-iscsi/open-iscsi/commit/baa0cb45cfcf10a81283c191b0b236cd1a2f66ee.patch) or rebase the iscsi-initiator-utils on something newer ?

This message is a reminder that Fedora 29 is nearing its end of life. Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 29 on 2019-11-26. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '29'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 29 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.

Still happening
Hi Chris, Is there anything you can do to speed up the PR approval? https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/iscsi-initiator-utils/pull-request/7 This has been broken since Fedora 29, and it's still broken in Fedora 31. Thanks, Gorka.
It's also affecting downstream projects like Fedora CoreOS 31 also, as the packages are being used there. Checking Fedora CoreOS 32, and it's fixed there. This bug also breaks ansible's open_iscsi module ( https://docs.ansible.com/ansible/latest/modules/open_iscsi_module.html#open-iscsi-module ). RHEL 8 got a fix for this back in 2018 ( https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1650402 ).
