Description Thomas Serries 2005-09-22 07:07:53 EDT
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de-DE; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050719 Red Hat/1.0.6-1.4.1 Firefox/1.0.6

Description of problem:
When moving windows across the x3270 window characters are not always redrawn correctly. Some parts (a singe/a few pixel, a line or a small region of characters) are missing.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Move some windows across the terminal window.
2. Switch between windows

Actual Results: Some characters are not drawn correctly. The "missing parts" are in background colour. (I'll attach a screenshot)

Additional info:

This bug appears sporadically. Moving the terminal window seems to solve the problem; but is not an adequate workaround for power-users.

This request was evaluated by Red Hat Engineering for inclusion in a Red
Hat Enterprise Linux maintenance release.

Red Hat does not currently plan to provide this change in a Red Hat Enterprise
Linux update release for currently deployed products.

With the goal of minimizing risk of change for deployed systems, and in
response to customer and partner requirements, Red Hat takes a conservative
approach when evaluating enhancements for inclusion in maintenance updates
for currently deployed products. The primary objectives of update releases
are to enable new hardware platform support and to resolve critical

However, Red Hat will further review this request for potential inclusion
in future major releases of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
