Description of problem: The Fedora Wordpress RPM appears to have a bunch of missing and modified files when compared to the Wordpress download direct from Wordpress. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Fedora 29 and Wordpress 5.1-1 How reproducible: At will Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to http://mysite.example.com/wp-admin 2. In the dashboard, go to dashboard...health check. 3. Select the Tools tab and run a file integrity test (I'll be happy to demo this on my own websites.) Actual results: I have two Wordpress 5.1-1 websites; The problem website uses the Fedora Wordpress RPM. The good website downloads Wordpress updates directly from Wordpress. On my good website, the file integrity test runs without error. But on my problem website, the file integrity test shows these missing or changed files: /usr/share/wordpress/readme.html File not found /usr/share/wordpress/license.txt File not found Additional info: Starting with Wordpress 5, the default editor changed to an editor named Gutenberg. Gutenberg organizes website sections into blocks. Older content uses a block called Classic. Whenever I try to edit a Classic block with my problem website, the block displays an error message, "This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed." But I can edit classic blocks without problem on my good website. I've checked config files and lots of settings; this difference in files seems to be what breaks it.

No, the file are patched or removed to comply to Fedora Packaging Guildelines > Whenever I try to edit a Classic block with my problem website, the block displays an error message, "This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed." See a duplicate of bug #1691524 Please try 5.1.1-4 from updates-testing
Wow. Before upgrading: [root@dgregscott2019 ~]# rpm -qa | grep wordpress wordpress-5.1.1-1.fc29.noarch After upgrading: [root@dgregscott2019 ~]# rpm -qa | grep wordpress wordpress-5.1.1-4.fc29.noarch [root@dgregscott2019 ~]# And now I can edit a classic block!

May I ask one more question? > No, the file are patched or removed to comply to Fedora Packaging Guildelines How did they not comply? Is there a way to feed that info back to the Wordpress community so they can make appropriate changes? thanks - Greg
> Is there a way to feed that info back to the Wordpress community so they can make appropriate changes? I've tried in the past, they don't care. Most changes are related to - FHS compliant paths - disable auto-update (doesn't make sense for RPM) - disable swf, not allowed in Fedora - use system php-getid3, php-simplepie... instead of bundled copies
