Description of problem:

Versions post 0.99.5 simply don't work with Windows 7. This is well documented elsewhere yet Fedora is shipping the broken version

100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try and change Windows 7 properties
2. Observe error
3. Build Debian's 0.99.5 version by hand
4. That one works

An internet search shows this is widely known.
