Description of problem:
Backport request of Spinner is stuck when deleting image in angularized panel

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Upload an image
2. Go to the detail page of the image
3. Choose 'Delete Image'

Actual results:
The delete button causes several errors written in the LP.
Then, the spinner is stuck.

Expected results:
The error doesn't show and spineer isn't stuck.

In upstream, I tried to cherry-pick the patch into stable/queens. However, it cannot be done easily.
We might need to backport several fixes into the tree.
