[patch] Update to 5.0.0 (#1707986)

Comment 12 Miro Hrončok 2019-07-01 14:32:16 UTC
Note that 5.0.0 is Python 3 only. I'll submit a PR that updates pytest to 4.6 (latest possible version that supports legacy Python).

Later, we can decided whether to introduce python2-pytest source package and do a split, or wait for F32 rawhide to drop python2-pytest entirely.

Comment 13 Miro Hrončok 2019-07-01 14:42:00 UTC
So it seems that even 4.6 has new dependencies that we cannot have on py2.

Splitting the package is inevitable if we want to update it.

Is there an ETA for a update? 5.x is available for almost a year now and still not available.

Comment 73 Miro Hrončok 2020-05-19 08:43:28 UTC
Yes, we plan to update pytest to 5 after we rebase Python to 3.9. That should happen in upcoming days/weeks.

Comment 74 Miro Hrončok 2020-05-29 15:49:17 UTC
pytest-5.4.2-1.fc33 is now in rawhide.
python-pytest4-4.6.10-4.fc33 has been built for those who need to stay at 4 for now.

I'll send out an announcement.
