I maybe should have just closed this a while ago. But Bleachbit released v3.0 just over a month ago, completing the transition to GTK 3. Which proves they're still working on it and making progress. So I guess I'll keep this open. Once Bleachbit finishes porting to Python 3, I'll be able to recreate the Fedora package and I can check to make sure this issue is resolved then.
Thank you for pinging me on this. I will take a look at pushing the update to v3.0 ... if I can still build it.
My understanding is that Bleachbit was removed from the Fedora repos because it still relies on Python 2. Bleachbit may still be available for versions of Fedora older than the current Rawhide, but I don't think FESCO or whichever Fedora committee will accept new Bleachbit releases again until upstream finishes the port to Python 3 -- which might or might not happen around Bleachbit 3.1 or so.
You are right, of course. I completely forgot that happened. We will have to wait for py3 port to be released.
Will a new version be released soon???
(In reply to xzj8b3 from comment #16) > Will a new version be released soon??? As I've mentioned, it's up to the upstream. Bleachbit is in the process of modernizing their code base. They released v3.0, which completed the transition from GTK 2 to GTK 3. But they have yet to complete the transition to Python 3. That might come in Bleachbit v3.1, but I don't know. It's up to them.
