Created attachment 1571748 [details] Screenshot Description of problem: When creating a new VM and attaching precreated disks - the only options available are 'virtio' and 'ide'. Once the VM is saved, the disks can be switched to 'virtio-scsi'. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): ovirt-engine-4.3.4-1.el7.noarch ovirt-engine-webadmin-portal-4.3.4-1.el7.noarch ovirt-web-ui-1.5.2-1.el7.noarch How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Create a disk on gluster-based Storage via the API (check https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1704782 for example) 2.Select New Vm wizzard and attach the disk created in step 1 3.Save the VM 4.Edit the VM and edit the disk from the wizzard - virtio-scsi is available now Actual results: There is no virtio-scsi during initial attachment. The VM should be saved before selecting virtio-scsi Expected results: virtio-scsi should be available during the New VM wizzard Additional info: Tested with RHEL8 and SuSE - based VMs. It seems that there is limitation based on the 'Operating System' dropdown.
Just checked this one with 4.3.5.2 - still valid .Either virtio or IDE.
This doesn't seem like a UX infra issue so re-assign to Storage team
This bug is targeted to 4.4.3 and in modified state. can we re-target to 4.4.0 and move to QA?
Verified in ovirt-engine-4.4.0-0.29.master.el8ev.noarch ovirt-engine-webadmin-portal-4.4.0-0.29.master.el8ev.noarch Attaching an existing disk via New Virtual Machine -> Attach Virtual Disks dialog now offers the VirtIO-SCSI interface. The VM is successfully created and the disk is attached(*). (*) except VMs with OS Types such as RHEL3,4,5 and Windows XP, these have disabled VirtIO-SCSI support (checkbox Resource Allocation / VirtIO-SCSI is disabled).
Tested in browsers: Firefox 74.0.1, Chromium 80
