Description of problem: There are constant messages in /var/log/messages ovs-vsctl: ovs|00001|db_ctl_base|ERR|unix:/var/run/openvswitch/db.sock: database connection failed (No such file or directory) Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): On the manager, rhvm-4.2.6.4-0.1.el7ev.noarch ovirt-provider-ovn-1.2.14-1.el7ev.noarch On the Host, ovirt-provider-ovn-driver-1.2.16-1.el7ev.noarch openvswitch-2.9.0-70.el7fdp.1.x86_64 How reproducible: Reproducible on the customer's system. Randomly seen on my RHEL Host. Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: database connection failed messages are seen in /var/log/messages Expected results: database connection failed messages should not be seen in /var/log/messages Additional info: I had reported this issue in earlier Bug :- https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1588455 Since this was closed, I have opened this New Bugzilla. In my case the issue is seen randomly on my RHEL Hosts, but not on RHV Hosts. From the customer's system, they ran the below command on thier system but they still get the error message, root # ovs-vsctl get Open_vSwitch . external_ids:system-id ovs-vsctl: unix:/var/run/openvswitch/db.sock: database connection failed (No such file or directory) They do not use openvswitch so the service is inactive. They have disabled automatic synchronization from the providers section, However they still see these messages.
Hi Siddhant, This seems to be a duplicate of BZ 1685034 The fix is in ovirt-provider-ovn-driver-1.2.21 and you using ovirt-provider-ovn-driver-1.2.16-1.el7ev.noarch I believe this should be closed as duplicate.
