Description Ben Steadman 2019-06-08 09:44:11 UTC
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1701767 +++

Minecraft-Overviewer is soon going to make the switch from Python 2 to 3, and will update its build system to continue providing prebuilt packages for CentOS/RHEL. However, EPEL currently does not offer a Python 3 compatible version of the pillow library. This puts us into a bit of a rough spot as we'll either need to drop RHEL or maintain our own pillow package for no good reason.

The initial bug has been resolved with a python3-pillow package for EPEL 7, however since Minecraft-Overviewer is also built for CentOS 6, an EPEL 6 package is needed.

I think this is going to be a bridge too far. If you can submit a working spec, I'll build it.

Comment 2 Ben Steadman 2019-06-13 06:36:04 UTC
Ok thank you, the Minecraft-Overviewer team are ok with dropping support for providing CentOS 6 builds. I'll see if it will be too much hassle getting a working spec anyway.

Comment 3 Ben Steadman 2019-06-14 07:03:39 UTC
It seems you were right, there's too many packages unavailable in EPEL 6 to build Pillow. Thank you for your offer to build it anyway, I will close this bug.
