oVirt gerrit 103302 0 'None' MERGED core: Device correlate only by aliases 2020-07-07 11:56:53 UTC

Description Ryan Barry 2019-06-10 12:13:29 UTC
Description of problem:
Since the introduction of domain XML, device tracking for VMs does not follow user aliases, since they were not supported everywhere. This leads to inconsistent/messy tracking of devices, especially disks, and can be cleaned up with CL 4.4

We should use aliases in order to associate Devices:VMs

Comment 1 Michal Skrivanek 2019-06-11 10:01:39 UTC
also NICs. In general all devices since 4.2 get a unique alias(VmDevice UUID)
