RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Manish Chopra (Marvell) 2019-06-13 21:37:37 UTC
Qed FW files update BZ.

Comment 1 Zhang Kexin 2019-08-08 05:40:50 UTC
Hi Manish,

What version will the FW be? Any specific test needs to be done besides confirming the correct FW version is included in linux-firmware? Thanks.

Hi Zhang,

We are not planning to update the FW files used by QEDE. (it is going to be 8.37.7.0 only as was in RHEL8.1)
But we need to include FW files from below linux-firmware.git commit for DPDK to be included in RHEL8.2

commit 9e194c730712addbdf5b50cf71f9a4ec42623a29 (HEAD -> master, origin/master, origin/HEAD)
Author: Rasesh Mody <rmody>
Date: Mon Oct 28 21:13:18 2019 -0700

    qed: Add firmware 8.40.33.0

This patch adds new 8.40.33.0 firmware image for QL4xxxx family of
QLogic adapters. The new firmware consists of fixes and enhancements.

Following changes are part of the new firmware:
     - Fix VF RX queue start by returning error when fail to load VF data
     - Fix big receive buffer initialization for 100G leading hardware
       assertion
     - Fix FW to handle GRE tunnel traffic when non-L2 ethernet protocol is
       enabled
     - Add initial FW support for VF Representors

Thanks,
Manish

i am no longer the Rhel 8.2 maintainer. Adding Don Howard, because Bugzilla doesn't seem to know about the new maintainer.

Comment 4 Manish Chopra (Marvell) 2019-11-27 07:43:16 UTC
Hi Don,

Can you please check if above FW is taken ?

Thanks,
Manish

Hi HeKai, just a reminder to verify this bug fix, we are expected to move 8.2 errata to REL_PREP by 3/30.
