From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050922 Fedora/1.0.7-1.1.fc4 Firefox/1.0.7 Description of problem: Having mirrorlists provides a good updateable list of mirrors only if the mirror list site stays up. When it goes down there currently isn't any fallback, except manually adding mirrors to the repository definition. If the mirrorlist were cached with the other repository metadata the transaction could continue with the last known good mirrors, even if the mirrorlist is down. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): yum-2.4.0-0.fc4 How reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: fedora.redhat.com goes down Actual Results: No more mirror list, yum can't continue. Expected Results: Continued from cached mirrorlist. Additional info:
already been discussed on yum-devel list. See this month's archives for more information. closing this as upstream.
