Description rugk 2019-07-07 09:15:05 UTC
Description of problem:
The flatpak version from https://registry.fedoraproject.org/ is pretty useless, because you can only see some keys.

I tested it on Fedora Silverblue and I could only edit some PGP-related stuff or so.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): dconf-editor-master-2920190509143043.1

How reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install it from https://registry.fedoraproject.org/
2. Start and look what you can edit.

Actual results:
You see not that many keys.

Expected results:
See all keys!

Additional info:
If I install this application I obviously want to edit all keys. For what am I installing it otherwise??

Felipe, you did the dconf-editor flatpak, can you take a look at this, please?

Comment 2 rugk 2019-07-19 20:34:18 UTC
Any news?

Or should I report it upstream?

Comment 3 Felipe Borges 2019-07-22 14:09:41 UTC
It seems that it has the same issue as https://github.com/flathub/ca.desrt.dconf-editor/issues/3

We could alternatively provide the https://github.com/flathub/ca.desrt.dconf-editor/blob/master/start-dconf-editor.sh script in the dconf-editor .spec file guarding it with %0{?flatpak}.

Kalev, what do you think?

Comment 4 Kalev Lember 2019-08-12 14:34:02 UTC
Sure, I think that's a good plan.

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 31 development cycle.
Changing version to '31'.

I went ahead and copied the flathub fix, https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/dconf-editor/c/c8bb8c385d72b1ad13d792880e84479a260c51ed?branch=master

Comment 8 Ben Cotton 2020-11-03 15:19:02 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 31 is nearing its end of life.
Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 31 on 2020-11-24.
It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer
maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a
Fedora 'version' of '31'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 31 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 9 rugk 2020-11-03 19:09:51 UTC
Still a bug in Fedora 33.

Well… as it affects the flatpak likely not fixed in Fedora 34 or 35 too.
