python-mplcairo failed to build from source in Fedora rawhide/f31 https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=36637160 For details on the mass rebuild see: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_31_Mass_Rebuild Please fix python-mplcairo at your earliest convenience and set the bug's status to ASSIGNED when you start fixing it. If the bug remains in NEW state for 8 weeks, python-mplcairo will be orphaned. Before branching of Fedora 32, python-mplcairo will be retired, if it still fails to build. mplcairo maintainer here. I can tag a new release, but would prefer if someone could confirm that the current HEAD would pass the fedora build first.
So master (314ff8163ea85fcfb0375a9105230c6adb0a7a9e) works on Fedora 31 (Python 3.7): https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=37656219 which confirms that it fixes build&test against Matplotlib 3.1. However, I cannot run a test on Fedora Rawhide because pybind11 is not rebuilt, so I don't know whether it's okay with Python 3.8.
As much as possible, I'd rather wait until pybind11 is rebuilt on Py3.8.

pybind11 ready. I've downloaded the source RPM from https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=37656219 and submitted a scratch build: $ koji build f32 --scratch python-mplcairo-0.2-0.1.20190913git314ff8163ea85fcfb0375a9105230c6adb0a7a9e.fc31.src.rpm Task info: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=37759171
314ff8163ea85fcfb0375a9105230c6adb0a7a9e works on Fedora 32 (Python 3.8) as well. You can cut a release.
Dear Maintainer, your package has not been built successfully in 31. Action is required from you. If you can fix your package to build, perform a build in koji, and either create an update in bodhi, or close this bug without creating an update, if updating is not appropriate [1]. If you are working on a fix, set the status to ASSIGNED to acknowledge this. Following the latest policy for such packages [2], your package can be orphaned if this bug remains in NEW state more than 8 weeks. A week before the mass branching of Fedora 32 according to the schedule [3], any packages which still have open FTBFS bugs from Fedora 31 will be retired. Should be soon to be fixed.
